As human beings, we have a primary core conflict between attachment and authenticity. As children, our priority was to remain attached to our caregivers, which means most of us have authentic aspects of ourselves in our shadow that have never been known or expressed. This translates into feeling like something is missing inside, yet it is still there, repressed and depressed. And, too often, we don’t go through the murky unknown to the clarity and joy on the other side. 

I support women who feel unseen and unexpressed in some essential aspects of themselves, likely due to inaccurate mirroring and emotional misattunement in childhood. I have foundsilent, unseen, and unknown aspects within myself, and I have been able to mirror these lost aspects through expressive art and writing. This is why I create in-depth, expressive art and writing courses to help you rediscover your Original Self.

What is a Core Wound?

We all have one - usually more than one. Your core wound is your hidden negative identity from childhood, and it drives your inner critic to be mean and shaming. Your unhealed core wounds will either drop you into a murky depression where it feels hard to express how you feel and what you need. Or, core wounds can instigate an anxiety-driven "perfection plan" for happiness that you hope will save you from having to face your deepest fears about yourself.

Negative core wound identities sound like this: I am not good enough. I am not important. I am flawed. I am not worthy. I am not valued. I don’t deserve love. I am not acceptable the way I am. I am too different. I don’t belong. I am not worthy of love. I am a burden. I am weird. I am a loser. I am not wanted. I am inadequate. I am powerless. I am unlovable. I am alone.

Core wounds block your soul's deepest longing: Like all people, you have a unique longing in your heart for something higher and more fulfilling. This differs from ego fantasies seeking to compensate for core wound pain. You might have a genuine soul longing to have a beautiful love relationship or to be financially free, for example. You might ache to express who you truly are in the world, or perhaps you want to find your core strength and accomplish something magnificent. These deep soul longings are blocked by unhealed core wound pain.

Core wounds express the places inside you most separated from Unconditional Love. Typically, your core wounds lie hidden in the subconscious and deeper unconscious mind, waiting for you to acknowledge and tend to them with love and care. But first, you must find what is missing so that you can give yourself what you need in order to grow.

It is common to ignore core wounds. When core wounds remain deeply unconscious, you may achieve success in life in an anxiety-driven way that demands perfection. Conversely, when core wounds come closer to the surface, you might grapple with a depression that blocks intuition and creativity.

Your core wounds are lies but they feel true. We carry core wound lies from our familial and societal conditioning within our emotional body. When you look at the world through the lens of your unhealed core wounds, you will see a world that mirrors your shortcomings and insecurities. This core wound feedback loop blocks the intuition you need to actualize your soul's deepest longings.
